10.10.2018 - 09:23

It is a pleasure to announce that our recent alumnus, Mathias Unberath, has been appointed as Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Johns Hopkins University. His research focuses on novel techniques for x-ray imaging, machine learning for the interpretation of medical images, and augmented reality for surgical guidance and medical education.

Before joining Johns Hopkins as faculty, Mathias was a postdoctoral fellow in the Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics at Johns Hopkins University working with Russell Taylor, Mehran Armand, and Nassir Navab on various topics in the realm of image-guided surgery. Mathias graduated from the Pattern Recognition Lab in May 2017 where, under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Andreas Maier, he developed image-based motion compensation strategies for interventional coronary artery reconstruction.
