Medical Imaging - Technology and Algorithms [MITA]Summary
Medical imaging technology combines sophisticated biophysical sensors with advanced algorithms for human body reconstruction. In this lecture we will examine the major medical systems comprising X-Ray radiography (XR) and Computed Tomography (CT), Emission Tomography (PET, SPECT), Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI) and Ultrasound imaging (US). For each of these modalities, we analyze the full path of information gathering, handling and reconstruction. This covers sensors and their measured physical properties, system and data transmission technology and finally a detailed introduction to the reconstruction algorithms.
