• Multimodal classification of the focus of attention: Detection of On-Talk/Off-Talk (e.g. user is speaking aside) and On-View/Off-View (gaze direction of the user)
• Automatic speech recognition: Characterization and recognition of children's speech
• Pronunciation scoring for computer assisted language learning
• Feature extraction for automatic speech recognition; extraction of prosodic and other paralinguistic features for the classification of emotions, Off-Talk, scoring of non-native speech, etc.
