Martin Mayr joined the Pattern Recognition Lab in August 2019 as PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Maier and Dr Vincent Christlein.
He completed his Masters in Computer Science majoring Pattern Recognition from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erlangen, Germany. The topic of his thesis was “Weakly-supervised segmentation of defects on solar cells”.
His research work focuses on hand-written text recognition regarding communications and language in the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. Nuremberg letters of correspondence of the 15th century are used for this purpose.
