Christoph Luckner M. Sc.Researcher in the Computed Tomography: Algebraic Reconstruction and Motion (CTARM) group at the Pattern Recognition Lab of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-NürnbergNovel applications for twin-robotic X-ray imaging
The Siemens ‘Multitom Rax‘ (Robotic Advanced X-ray) is a ceiling mounted X-ray system equipped with two freely movable robotic arms carrying the X-ray tube as well as flat panel X-ray detector. Since each arm can be moved independently the system is capable not only of acquiring 2-D X-ray images but also of projection data similar to C-arm based cone-beam systems. With features like 3-D imaging under natural weight-bearing conditions, the system opens up a lot of new possibilities. This project will mainly focus on developing new clinically beneficial applications utilizing the possibilities of the system. |
